SoftwareShimadzu LCsolution 1.25 (Postrun Analysis), LC-2010 series HPLC

1Purpose

To apply a revised data-analysis method to existing data files in one step using the Postrun Batch Table.

2Scope

Applies to LCsolution 1.2x Postrun Batch Processing.

3Responsibility

  • Analyst — performs the procedure and records results.
  • QC reviewer — verifies the output against the acceptance criteria.
  • Lab in-charge / system administrator — controls method and report-format files and user rights.

5Prerequisites and materials

  • Revised method file (.lcm) saved.
  • Data files to reprocess, preferably copies.

6Safety and precautions

  • Work on a copy of data and method files until the change is approved.
  • Never delete or overwrite raw data (.lcd) to obtain a passing result; every change must be traceable.
  • Follow the laboratory's data-integrity and audit-trail SOP when LCsolution security is enabled.

7Procedure

  1. 7.1

Set the method in the Batch Table

Postrun → Batch Processing: put the new method (e.g. VA_Caffeine.lcm) in the Method File column; Edit → Fill Down copies it to every row.

Step 7.1: Set the method in the Batch Table — Shimadzu LCsolution screenshot

  2. 7.2

    Start the batch

Click Batch Start. If a data file is open, the "Close Read File" prompt appears — click OK.

  3. 7.3

    Check completion

All six data files are reprocessed in seconds.

  4. 7.4

    Open one injection

    Double-click any file, e.g. Caffeine_04.

Step 7.4: Open one injection — Shimadzu LCsolution screenshot

  5. 7.5

    Verify the new integration

Impurity separated, main peak Area % 82.7.

  6. 7.6

    Good practice

Work on a copy; File → Rollback to Original Data gives a clean start.

8Acceptance criteria and interpretation

  • Every row of the batch shows the new method and finishes without error.
  • Opened data files show the new integration (e.g. impurity separated, Area % 82.7).

9Troubleshooting and common errors

SymptomCause and fix
"Close Read File" messageA data file is open in another window. Click OK; LCsolution closes it first.
Need the original result backFile → Rollback to Original Data restores the acquisition-time processing.
