Shimadzu liquid chromatographs we service
We service Shimadzu HPLC systems used in pharmaceutical QC and research laboratories, including the LC-2010 and LC-2010C HT integrated systems, LC-20 Prominence modular systems and the Nexera-i LC-2030C. Work covers installation, preventive maintenance, breakdown repair, calibration, IQ, OQ and PQ qualification, and annual maintenance contracts. Shimadzu GC-2010 and GC-2014 gas chromatographs and the UV-1800 spectrophotometer are serviced by the same team, which helps laboratories that run several Shimadzu instruments.
Faults we see most often
On the LC-2010 family the common faults are pump pressure that fluctuates or falls because of worn plunger seals or a sticking check valve, autosampler carryover from a worn rotor seal or needle seat, and a deuterium lamp near the end of its life that raises baseline noise. Error messages on the front panel are often the fastest clue. Spares and repair
Wear parts for Shimadzu HPLC pumps, injectors and detectors, such as plunger seals, check valves, rotor seals, lamps and fittings, can be supplied with the repair. Older systems whose parts are hard to source are assessed honestly, and if a repair is not worth the cost we say so and explain the replacement options, including refurbished units. To raise a request, send the model and serial number of each module, the LabSolutions or software version, a photo of any error message on the front panel and a short note on when the fault started and what changed before it. That is usually enough to bring the right parts on the first visit.

Why does the pressure fluctuate on a Shimadzu LC-2010 pump?
Fluctuating pressure on an LC-2010 pump usually comes from air in the solvent line, a sticking or dirty check valve, or worn plunger seals. Purge the pump and check the degasser first, then clean or replace the check valves, and replace the seals if the pressure ripple stays. A leak at the pump head is a sign the seals are worn.
