Overlaying chromatograms with Data Comparison in LCsolution
SOP with screenshots: overlay several LCsolution data files in Data Comparison, zoom, show or hide files, and use it for linearity and RSD checks.

1Purpose
To overlay several data files in one view for visual comparison of retention time, shape and response.
2Scope
Applies to LCsolution 1.2x Postrun → Data Comparison.
3Responsibility
- Analyst — performs the procedure and records results.
- QC reviewer — verifies the output against the acceptance criteria.
- Lab in-charge / system administrator — controls method and report-format files and user rights.
5Prerequisites and materials
- Data files to compare (e.g. five linearity levels).
6Safety and precautions
- Work on a copy of data and method files until the change is approved.
- Never delete or overwrite raw data (.lcd) to obtain a passing result; every change must be traceable.
- Follow the laboratory's data-integrity and audit-trail SOP when LCsolution security is enabled.

Postrun → Data Comparison.

Add data files
File → Open → Add Data File → select all five linearity levels.

Overlay

Zoom
Drag a box over 3.0–3.9 min: same RT 3.25 min at every level, same shape, tailing visible.

The number buttons show or hide each file.

Use it for
Linearity, RSD and before/after maintenance checks.
8Acceptance criteria and interpretation
- All selected files overlaid; RT and peak shape consistent across files (e.g. RT 3.25 min at every level).
