Shimadzu LC-2030C Plus (Nexera-i / Prominence-i i-Series) HPLC Troubleshooting and Service
HPLC service, breakdown support and spares across Maharashtra and Gujarat.
No guide published for this model yet
We service this instrument, but nothing has been written up for it here so far. We only publish what our own engineers have actually seen on the bench, so this page waits until there is something real to put on it.
If it is down right now, that does not have to wait. Tell us the model and what it is doing — high pressure, no ignition, a code on the screen — and someone who works on this instrument will answer.

Most noisy or drifting HPLC baselines come down to ten causes. This is the order our engineers check them in on Shimadzu, Waters and Agilent systems, with a pattern table and a simple stop-flow test.
Frequently asked about the Shimadzu LC-2030C Plus
Straight answers from the engineers who service it — from our own service notes, published guides and the instrument's own documentation.
What is the Shimadzu LC-2030C Plus, and how does it relate to the Nexera-i and Prominence-i?
The LC-2030C Plus is Shimadzu's integrated i-Series HPLC — the same platform sold under the Prominence-i and Nexera-i names. The Nexera-i LC-2030C is the UHPLC version rated to 130 MPa; it runs its own diagnostics before a method starts, so a developing problem is caught at the beginning rather than halfway through an overnight sequence. Shimadzu's chromatography software for these systems is LabSolutions. Tell us the exact designation on your instrument's label when you enquire.
PDA or UV detector on an integrated Shimadzu HPLC — which do I need?
A single-wavelength UV/Visible detector is the most common and is enough for assay work. A PDA (photodiode array) records many wavelengths at once, which is what impurity profiling and peak-purity checks need: from a single injection you can tell whether a peak is one compound or two. If related-substances and method-development work are part of the laboratory's routine, the PDA is the one to specify; tell us the methods and we will confirm which configuration fits.
Why is the pressure on my LC-2030C Plus rising?
Rising backpressure almost always means a blockage — the analytical column, the guard column or the in-line filter — and the most common cause is precipitated buffer. Phosphate and similar buffers must never be flushed straight into an organic solvent: the salt crystallises and can block the pump, injector and column together. The safe order is buffer, then water, then organic. If the pressure falls or fluctuates instead of rising, look at the pump seal, the check valves or a leak.
Which spare parts wear out on a LC-2030C Plus?
The predictable ones: the deuterium lamp in the UV detector (roughly 2000 hours of use), pump seals, pistons and check valves, the injector rotor seal and needle seat, in-line filters and solvent frits, the guard column, PEEK and steel fittings, ferrules, vials and septa. These are the parts that come up on service visit after service visit, and the ones worth keeping on the shelf.
Why is the baseline on the LC-2030C Plus noisy or drifting?
Four causes cover most cases: the detector lamp is at the end of its life, there is air or dirt in the flow cell, the mobile phase is not mixing or degassing properly, or the room temperature is changing during the run. Work through them in that order before assuming an electronic fault. Our checklist Diagnosing HPLC baseline noise and drift walks through it step by step.
What should I tell you when the LC-2030C Plus breaks down?
Send the brand and full model, the serial number (spares and warranty are tied to it), what the instrument is doing in your own words — "pressure is rising", "no peak" — since when and whether it started suddenly, any error message on the screen, when the last preventive maintenance or calibration was done, and whether the unit is under warranty, under an AMC or a paid visit. We do not promise a fix before seeing the instrument: one pressure complaint can have five different causes.
Do you service the LC-2030C Plus in Mumbai, Thane or Pune?
Yes. Vision Analytical is based in Ambernath in Thane district and has worked with laboratories across Maharashtra and Gujarat since 2022, including Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad. When you enquire, share the laboratory address and the instrument's full model name. Coverage does not mean a branch office or a guaranteed response time in every city — scheduling is confirmed directly with you.
What is the difference between an AMC and a CMC for a LC-2030C Plus?
An AMC covers the engineer's visits and labour — typically two preventive visits a year plus breakdown calls — with spare parts charged separately. A CMC is comprehensive: the wear parts are included too, although items such as lamps, columns and glassware are often excluded and the contract wording decides. Calibration is scheduled every 6 or 12 months according to your own SOP, not ours. Our article AMC vs CMC: what's the difference? goes through how to choose.
